Version 2.2

MyLaserTools 2.2 release notes

Birdhouse, dollhouse and Christmas village generators, Art Library favourites and new books

Three new generators: a birdhouse sized to the bird you pick, a dollhouse in three scales and light-up Christmas village houses. Save Art Library pieces with a heart and find them on your Favourites page, see each month's new books lying open on their own page, and open any collection onto what's inside, from skeleton keys and weathervanes to watch wheels and jelly moulds. You can also connect Claude, ChatGPT or another AI assistant to your account over MCP, and earn Sparks by sharing designs and finished projects.

New features

  • Birdhouse Generator: Pick one of 15 birds and the floor, the box height and the entrance hole follow it. The gabled roof sits on tabs so it lifts off for cleaning, and vents, drain holes and climbing grooves are on by default.
  • Dollhouse Generator: A gabled dollhouse in 1:12, 1:24 or 1:48 with up to three floors that slot into the walls, an attic and an open back.
  • Christmas Village House Generator: Six light-up house styles, from a cottage to a church, with cut-out windows, a hole for an LED tealight, a chimney and a snow cap for the roof.
  • Favourites for Art Library pieces: Every piece in the Art Library has the same heart as the tool cards. Tap it to save the piece, tap it again to remove it. Any signed-in account can use it.
  • New books, lying open: Every book that came into the library this month lies open on one page, eight of its first pieces across the spread and a count of how many came in. Open one to turn through the rest. Pieces that arrived on their own are gathered underneath as loose leaves.
  • Nine new collections, sorted by what's inside: Door hardware, ironwork and weathervanes, clocks and jewellery, the Victorian kitchen, toys and games, vintage tech, musical instruments, printers' cuts and penmanship. Every collection now opens onto a grid of what's inside it, keys or ferns or jelly moulds, and each of those has a page of its own.
  • Connect your AI assistant (MCP): Add MyLaserTools to Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor or any assistant that supports remote MCP servers, sign in and choose what it may do. Then ask for your project: it finds Art Library pieces, opens your picks in the design editor and fills in free generators such as Connected Text, Plant Stakes, Backpack Tags and 3D Print Boxes. With your permission it downloads the original files your account can open, and unlocks paid pieces with sparks once you agree to the cost.
  • Earn Sparks by sharing what you make: Share a community design to earn 10 Sparks right away. Add a real photo of the finished piece for 10 more and useful making details for 5 more; a design featured in the gallery earns another 25. An approved ‘I made this’ post earns 10, and verified newsletter subscribers can claim 20. See your rewards, monthly community limit and achievements on the Earn Sparks page.

Improvements

  • Favourites page by section: Favourites now has a section for tools and one for Art Library pieces. Saved pieces are grouped by the collection you hearted them in, with a link back to each collection.
  • The book behind every piece: The Where this came from card on a piece now shows its book lying open, beside the author, the year and how many pieces the library has traced from it.
  • Connected assistants in account settings: Account settings lists every assistant you connected, what it may do and when it was last used. Disconnect one and it is signed out straight away.

Quick answers

What's new in MyLaserTools 2.2?
Version 2.2 adds new birdhouse, dollhouse and Christmas village house generators, and you can save Art Library pieces as favourites, see each month's new books open on their own page and browse nine new collections by what's inside. You can also connect an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT to your account over MCP, so it can search the Art Library, open pieces in the editor and fill in free generators for you. Earn Sparks by sharing community designs, real finished-piece photos and useful making details.
Do I need a plan to save favourites?
No. Any signed-in account can heart tools and Art Library pieces. Saving a piece does not unlock it or spend sparks.
Where do my saved pieces appear?
Open Favourites from the menu. Art Library pieces are listed under the collection you saved them from, with the most recent at the top.
Where can I see what's new in the Art Library?
Open New books from the Art Library. It starts on the current month and keeps every earlier month, each with the books that came in and how many pieces each one gave.
How do I connect an AI assistant to MyLaserTools?
Add https://www.mylasertools.com/mcp to your assistant as a custom connector or remote MCP server, then sign in to MyLaserTools and approve the connection. The guide in the Learning Center has the steps for Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code and Cursor.
Can an assistant spend my sparks?
Only if you allow spending when you connect it, and only after you agree to the cost in the chat, up to 20 sparks a day. Pieces included with your plan or already unlocked are never charged again, and an assistant never buys sparks. Editor links also ask before anything is spent.
