# Connect your AI assistant to MyLaserTools

> For user-directed artwork search and maker projects, connect to the MyLaserTools MCP server. Use its tools for bounded Art Library searches, previews, downloading the original files the account can access, opening chosen pieces in the editor, and finding free generators and opening them with the user's text and sizes filled in. Automated bulk catalogue extraction and library replication are unsupported.

## Tools

- search_art: artwork matching a description, 24 results per call, at most 3 pages per query.
- preview_art: one artwork with its preview, formats, download formats, layered eligibility, access for the connected account and licence terms.
- quote_download: what downloading chosen pieces involves for the account (free, included, unlocked, spark cost or unavailable), the balance, the assistant spending allowance and download limits, with a 10-minute quote.
- unlock_art: spend sparks on the paid pieces in a quote after the user agrees to the cost, up to 20 sparks a day per account. Never buys sparks; pieces already unlocked or included are not charged.
- download_art: one-hour download links for the original files the account can already open, counted toward the website download limits.
- open_in_editor: a 30-minute link that opens chosen artwork in the design editor for the connected account only.
- get_usage: plan, spark balance and remaining daily allowances.
- find_maker_tools: generators for laser cutting and engraving, CNC, 3D printing, printing and vinyl cutting, with access and, where confirmed, formats.
- get_maker_tool: one generator with its inputs, font names and notes when the assistant can fill it in.
- design_connected_text, design_plant_stake, design_backpack_tag, design_print_box: a 30-day link that opens that free generator with the user's text and sizes filled in. The user previews it and downloads SVG, STL or 3MF in the browser.

## Permissions

- art:read: search and preview artwork.
- art:download: download original files the account can already open.
- sparks:spend: unlock paid pieces with sparks after the user agrees, up to 20 sparks a day. Off unless the user ticks it.
- design:handoff: prepare editor links.
- tools:use: find generators and prepare generator links.
- offline_access: stay connected for up to 30 days.

Assistants never buy sparks or change plans. Spending needs the sparks:spend permission and the user's agreement to the quoted cost; editor links also ask before spending.

## Daily limits per account (UTC)

- 120 searches (80 for any one assistant)
- 300 previews
- 40 editor links
- 60 generator links
- 20 sparks spent through assistants
- 1500 different artworks shown
- Website downloads keep their own limits: 200 pieces a day, 600 different pieces in any 7 days and 1500 in any 30 days.

All assistants connected to one account share these limits with each other.

## Records

MyLaserTools records which tools a connection used, the search words it sent, which artworks it was shown and whether its editor and generator links were opened and led to an import. With analytics consent it also notes when a generator opened from one of its links starts a download. Activity is kept for 90 days and the list of artworks shown for 35 days. MyLaserTools receives only the tool calls, never the conversation itself.
